Be careful what you wish for….

Hey Justin……….be careful what you wish for.  Keith and Justin sent me a picture months ago of a hat and they said it was a “gift idea” for Justin for Christmas.  It is supposed to look like Davy Jones from Pirates of the Carribean.  By the end of that night, I had it finished and couldn’t WAIT for Christmas to surprise Justin with it.  Here is Justin, in all his Davy Jones splendor……

Zachghan

This afghan was supposed to be to keep at our house for Zach when he visits us and spends the night, but it’s too special to not be with him every day.  If you look close, you can see lots of things represented in this Zachghan.  It is all scrap yarn.  His first sleepsack yarn, rows that represent Christmas, his family, Halloween, July 4, etc.  It was fun to make and he loves it.

The blanket that anticipation built…..

When Danielle was pregnant with little Mr. Zachary, all six of us (Corey, Danielle, Mark, myself, Keith and Justin) were at Hobby Lobby and we all picked out yarn for a blanket for this little fetus.  It’s not the colors you would normally expect for a one-year old, but who wants to be normal?  He grew out of his baby blanket I crocheted for him, so this is his next blanket made with the yarn picked out with love before he was even born.  Here he is chillin’ – watching tv……….

…….and at bedtime in his playpen during an overnight visit……..

Dunebrook – August 18, 2011

Dunebrook asked us if we would consider making items for their auction.  Well, of course we would.  We love Dunebrook.  Here are the things we made for them.  We hope they make some money and more importantly, that the recipients enjoy these things.  The puppy and kitten panels have a crocheted border.  You cannot see the border in these pics because I hung the blankets up to get a full shot of their beauty.  Many thanks to David Textiles.  Thank you for your support.

Prettiest……..dress…………EVER!!!

This is the prettiest dress I ever saw in my whole life!!!  Why??  First, it’s just super-cute.  Second, my darling daughter-in-law crocheted it.  She knows how proud I am of her for learning to crochet but really Danielle, I know you will read this and I hope you really do feel my pride in you.  This dress she made to donate – more pride!!!

Zach’s new blanket

Danielle made Zachary another blanket.  This is our trip to Hobby Lobby to pick out yarn, the finished product and the most beautiful baby in the world (he’s my grandson – yes, I’m partial to him).  The yarn is Simply Soft – the baby is Simply a Joy…….

Snuggie baby

Here is a snuggie I crocheted and a hat I knitted for Zach for his car seat.  He is also wearing fleece mitts I custom-made to keep his precious hands warm.

Here he is testing it out before I finished the sleeves……..

Here he is in the shape of what he stole from my family when he was conceived…….

………..and playing shy…….

…….yet still being patient………..

………….and “please can this be over with”……………

The “Snuggle Up” pattern is here but I made adjustments.  I did mine with a sc/dc stitch to make it warmer (Corey loves sc/dc – when he was a kid he called it “the warmest pattern” so I chose that stitch for mine).  I also made it longer – do what you want to make it work for your child of choice.  This one was custom crocheted for Zach.

The hat pattern is a combination of patterns that I found – again, custom knit to be perfect for Zachary.
