Hey Wee One………..
Hey wee one….our little punkin’ pie……what happened to this little guy……….
Thank goodness you grew into this………..same hat – same baby – just a healthy version……….
You took meds every day of your life – 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. – Atenolol and Digoxin. Your meds went with you in an insulated lunch box with an ice pack. Like clockwork, alarms would go off at 8:00 a.m. or 8:00 p.m. and everybody would say “meds!”. If you were at our house, Mommy or Daddy would text us “meds” at 8:00 a.m. or 8:00 p.m. If Grandpa Mark was at work, he would text me “meds” at 8:00 a.m. or 8:00 p.m. Everybody cared/cares so much for your precious heart.
Grandpa Mark taped this sticky note on our back door so we would never forget to bring your meds with us if you were spending time with us…….
Yesterday, Father’s Day, was your last day of meds (we hope). Time will tell on the meds, but we are all proud of how far you have come. Here you are taking down your “Don’t forget MEDS!!!” sign with your Daddy and Mommy. What an exciting moment….
As for your NICU hat, it will stay right here…………
forever………as a reminder of you and where you came from and why I make things for other babies.
Lil’ Troopers – June 13, 2011
TeamZachMcD has been busy since Super Bowl Sunday making items for Lil’ Troopers. We made 36 sweater sets, blankets, bibs and washcloths to be gifted to three military hospitals. We love our military – what a beautiful way to honor the children of our military men and women.

Zach’s High Five!!!
